How to make good decisions?

Turning anxiety into action…

Thursday October 16 at 7:30pm

Every day, we are making decisions… some bigger than others….

What to wear… What to do… How to react to situations… How to manage our time…
But also: what to study, what career to pursue… choosing a partner… leaving a relationship
Keeping a job or pursuing a new opportunity… Moving to a new place… Following a passion….
Embarking on a path of self-knowledge…. Getting involved in the community….

How do we make decisions? Are they truly "ours" and the voice of intelligence, or the result of unconscious impulses, influences, fear, circumstances?
Are we avoiding making important decisions like a donkey between two bales of hay, starving to death?

Sometimes, our difficulty in making decisions can keep us from moving forward, and create anxiety and paralysis. At other times, impulsive decisions generate remorse and regrets.

How can we make of decisions a healthy component of our life, evolution and happiness, rather than a source of anxiety?

Drawing from wisdom teachings of East and West, we'll explore strategies to:
  • recognize impulses, feelings, and reason in our decisions
  • how to reconcile these different forces, and make wiser decisions
  • get unstuck and overcome the fear of making "wrong" decisions or mistakes
  • learn to take responsibility of our life with consciousness and courage
